One-stop shop for posh sports: the Hippodrome/Golf Course in Maisons-Laffitte

Today I hopped into the tiny Mini-Cooper (above - it wasn't quite tall enough to clear my chest, but was surprisingly spacious inside) with B. and É. and drove to the Maisons-Laffitte hippodrome so that B. could practice golf.

Hippodrome for golf, you ask?

Mais oui, the golf course takes up the inner part of the race track - what an effective use of space!

I, too, tried my hand at a few swings and I realized that 1) Scottish heritage does not automatically endow one with natural ability on the green, and 2) no matter how boring it is to watch on TV (sorry Grandma and Granddad), golf is much harder than it looks!
